We just throw away our old clothes, just because they become a little bit outdated for us or our taste keeps on changing. It is also seen several times that people just throw them at some corner of their house to gather dust and leave them to occupy space in your house. Instead of all this, we should think that these old clothes could help somebody in need. We can also contribute in making their festive season more colourful, joyful and full of brightness.

Donating clothes: A noble work to feel great and self-satisfied

It is a quite simple fact that if you haven’t worn your clothes for six months or a year, then it’s time to let it go. But instead of throwing them away or just accumulate them in some corner of your house for no reasons donate them to the needy and poor. Doing this will make you feel good and self-satisfied because you are doing something for a worthy cause.

How many times have you thrown away something that was fully functional, just because it was a little old for your taste or because it was of no use to you anymore? The answer is probably ‘several times’.

From toys to old gadgets to furniture, we have rid of them at throwaway prices or for free most of the times. It is also a possibility that we may have left them unused to gather dust in some corner of the house. Whilst some of those things could have helped somebody in need, we simply do not know how to reach them.

Kindness is the Greatest Gift Humans are Offered by the Almighty

We, humans, are given TWO hands by the almighty. One to help ourselves, the Second one to help the others.

Known for the knack to help needy people through CSR activity, Let’s Nurture Infotech has been putting the best efforts ever since its existence. Being known as the top custom mobile app development company in Ahmedabad, India; Let’s Nurture also had a plan to start the year of 2019 with something similar. Hence, we decided to celebrate the new year by arranging a CSR activity to bring smiles on the faces of people who are actually in need.

The best thing about this CSR activity was that even the CEO also joined to this event filled with good deeds. Many employees from various departments like iOS app development, Android app development, PHP development, IoT app development along with Project Managers gathered for what meant to be an important event as always. This is what DNA of Let’s Nurture is all about despite being and IT offshore development center.

We explored the areas around of Zydus hospital, Science City, Chanakyapuri where we got in touch with right people who needed something good to wear in chilly winters. And we all know how long and cold this year’s winter was!

We never think about impact we are making when we buy our clothing. We simply buy because of our priced possession. Why it is important to live sustainable lifestyle?

2 Billion T-shirts are sold every year in the world. Worldwide 25 Million Tons Cotton is used for clothing. Which take 2.5% of agriculture land of the whole world. In USA 4.1 Billions worth of pesticides are used yearly , 25% is used for Cotton Industry Canada report says average Canadian spends $2450 on clothing.

Clothes Impact on Drinking Water

There is only 3% water on earth is drinkable. Out of that 0.3% As per the numbers from World wide energy fund 151 litre water is required for Each Load of Laundry & Drying takes 5 times more energy.

2700 litre water is required approximately to make 1 cotton T-shirt. 2700 litre is a 900 supply of drinking water for one person.

20 billion lbs ( 0.4 kg) of clothes dumped into Landfills in USA every year which is like 70 lbs ( 0.4 kg) per person. 1 in 10 clothes get bought & never used.

We collected multiple items and have donated them to rural areas. Some of them donated clothes especially for men, whereas others donated specifically for women. Mr. Kushal Mehta donated clothes of men, women and children along with some toys and games.

When we talk of basic needs, we say food, cloth and shelter. Whilst counting the development subjects of the rural population clothing is not listed as a subject. We think of clothes during disasters only. Why a basic need of entire human kind is treated as disaster relief material?

LetsNurture is using under utilised cloth & other old material as a powerful & proven tool for social change. Since last few years, LetsNurture has been thriving to contribute towards the betterment of the underprivileged. And with this initiative, the team of LetsNurture collect old clothes from modest donors from across the city, state and even country. We are glad to have few contributors from abroad as well.

Our very indulgent donor Sanjit Kumar Sahoo donated clothes and shoes to LetsNurture. We then headed to ‘Tithari’ village near Ghuma, Ahmedabad. An overwhelming response in last few months from regular and first time donors has helped many financially deprived families.

LetsNurture is an IT organization with a wide range of technology solutions to offer the world. It intends the enhancement of human race and palliating individual’s life. Along with working on technologies to ease woes of humanity, LetsNurture started various donation campaigns.

We go place to place to donate clothes and books and various other items like toys and blankets. We also campaign charity events like food donation at deaf and mute schools or at an orphanage. With our generous donors, we are glad to be conducting such events every month.

We receive ample of clothes, books and other necessary items from heartful people every month. This noble gesture of our donors not only helps us in donating more but also helps us to see the brighter aspect of donation campaigns.

Our noticeable donors this month were – Shital, Dolly Bhatia, Seema Mehta and Janak Panchal. With the clothes and Television set donated by Dolly, we headed to a construction site at New Ranip and later to Jagatpur Village. The clothes donated by Seema were distributed at the construction site at S.G. Highway. The shoes, clothes, bags and water bottles donated by Janak Panchal were donated to the underprivileged kids.

Utkarsh event

Utkarsh Patel, a friend of Ketan Raval, who lives in the States visited us while his stay in India. He was blessed with a daughter and wanted to share his happiness by charity work. Though he did not get a chance to do it for a while. After almost 2 years, he was glad to share his happiness with us and assist us with donating a generous amount. Along with the Patel family and the new member of their family, we proudly organized donation event at the school for deaf and mute. We were delighted to feed these children and help them with useful stationery items like pencils, sharpener etc.

Dr. Naren Buch and Mudrika Buch, were also glad to be a part of our charity initiative. Dr. Naren Buch is a retired surgeon based in London from last 40 years. He visits India every three months with his wife. They heard about our campaign and were moved by our kind act. They supported us with donating clothes, books, toys etc. We were glad to receive the donations from this humble couple.

The team of LetsNurture went to the streets to donate clothes in the month of February. It was a whisk experience to see the smiles on the faces of the underprivileged people. The clothes have been donated by the people who read about us or were recommended by their peers and colleagues. This noble gesture of theirs not only helped us in donating more but also helped us to see the brighter aspect of donation camps.

 

A Gujarati family from UK, visited our office to donate clothes. They got the details of our campaign by browsing through internet. We felt overwhelmed by their contribution. We have received donation for our previous campaign from the below mentioned people:

  1. Gopika – A young and generous lady visited us twice to donate as many clothes as possible. She also seems enthusiast to join us while we are on the roads with the needy to donate them the clothes.

  2. Mr. Dinesh – A bountiful person, visited us to donate clothes for the underprivileged.

  3. Mr. Rupesh – He donated us clothes to foster the basic necessity of the poor. He thanked us saying that it is a good deed that we are doing.

  4. Shah family donated money to feed the hungry and destitute people.

After donating clothes to the homeless people of the village named Maguna, we headed to old age homes and deaf and mute school to feast them with food. The elderly and the children were equally excited to receive us. The smile that crept through their faces  was priceless.

LetsNurture had the new year party of its kind with clothes donation

On 31st December of every year people celebrate the last day of the year by attending event or going out for a party or movie. LetsNurture celebrated 31st December 2016 in its own kind of way. We find joy in sharing. So, we thought why not celebrate by sharing this joy with others.

On 31st December 2016, few of our employees headed to the slum areas to donate these clothes. We started in the morning and headed straight to look for areas where we can find the needy. People were really happy to see us as we approached them. We captured few of those smiles especially of the kids. They looked upon us with hopes and we were glad to bring smile on their faces. We left them happy and ended the campaign with a small get together.
